World Of Plastic - Wearable Arts

Our Inquiry this term was the power of plastic.  We looked at how it si destroying our world and how people need to be educated more about it.  So we took to this challenge and got into groups and created a dress made out of materials you would find in your rubbish bin. The outfit had to connect to a problem that we are facing.  Our group focused on what the plastic is doing to a sea creatures.  We made a speech and poem and an outfit and showcased it all in a catwalk.

We made our main whale outfit using aluminium cans, bottles and caps, plastic wrapping, paper, cardboard, and other materials to help make out outfit.  How did you like our outfit.  If you would like to see our speech and poem please reply in the comments!

  1. Hi Lilly
That looks really cool! I love how you made the plastic look like something you might see in a movie. Next time you could dubble check your spelling before you post it.
    Great work!

I would like to congratulate you on your dress that you presented to your school.
The idea of making a sea related costume out of used plastic is really great . I think you did well with the task you have been set and I am very impressed.I noticed that you have made a few spelling mistakes that you could fix up by pushing the pencil button. This reminded me when the class next door to mine did a thing quite like what you did. Well done again regards Isla.
